2012
2012 was another busy season for Nigel, which included winning the UK Funcup Championship, racing a fabulous Shelby Cobra at glorious Goodwood and then winning with the same car at Spa. Further success at Spa was achieving the fastest ever lap for an Austin Healey 3000 in the Spa Six Hours.
Race wins and lap records included the 750 Motor Club Bikesports at Anglesey, Masters World Sportscars in a Chevron B8 at Brands Hatch and Donington and VdeV historics at Paul Ricard in a Chevron B36. Testing highlights included a Ferrari 458 at Daytona and a Corvette at Le Mans.
2011
2011 highlights included ice racing in Italy, historic race wins at Sebring and Paul Ricard, Formula 1 testing at Donington, coaching the winners of the Aston Martin GT4 series and an exciting challenge for the Funcup UK Championship.
2010
Highlights of my 2010 season include an amazing weekend at Sebring racing a Porsche 935, Argo Chevrolet and Camaro. A race win followed in the Belgian Funcup race at Mettet as well as petrol class Funcup wins at Mondello Park and the prestigious 25 hours race at Spa.
Not to mention winning the VdeV historic race at Paul Ricard in a Chevron B36 with Benton Bryan and achieving a last-lap pole position in the Corvette Trans Am race car, snatching pole from IMSA Racing’s Porsche RSR!
2009
2009 included 35 races in 9 countries with 13 podiums, 11 fastest laps, 3 lap records, an amazing Porsche 962 race at Sebring and ice karting success near Monaco!
2008
I was invited to lunch towards the end of December ‘08 by Malcolm Cracknell, editor of dailysportscar.com, to review my busy 2008 racing season.
Take a look at the dailysportscar article written by Malcolm, covering 56 races, a win in the ex-Schumacher Benetton F1 and a trip to a very special museum.
“...was witnessing Nigel’s unstinting enthusiasm and excitement for the whole two days. After all, this is a man who has raced all manner of exotica, including Formula One. The fact that he was so fired up by the Fun Cup speaks volumes for the quality of the series.”
